What is the Violet War?

Violet War is a name used to describe an urban fantasy setting created by author and game designer Monica Valentinelli. She designed this setting on a larger scale to accommodate and pitch other projects. Currently, she is working on a pitch for a game set in this world and revisions for a novel. She just released a product entitled THE QUEEN OF CROWS, which is set in this world.

Why write about Alchemy?

In the course of doing research for other projects, Monica has often been drawn to mysterious figures and groups in history. After learning that Alchemy was the foundation for modern day chemistry, Monica was inspired to create a world where the Alchemists could thrive in modern day society.

What is ARGENTUM?

The word “Argentum” means “silver” in Latin. In the Violet War setting, silver is a forbidden element that Alchemists might use in a taboo rite. It’s also the name of the novel Monica has been working on.

What can I read here on the site?

Who is the Queen of Crows?

The Queen of Crows is an ancient creature of vengeance. She is a primary character in ARGENTUM, and she’s also highlighted in a highly-acclaimed e-book called THE QUEEN OF CROWS now available through Flames Rising Press.
